Personal project for growth and challenge
UI – User Interface Designer
Paper and Pencil, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
To improve my user interface design skill, I enjoyed the DailyUI challenge on february 25, 2020.
DailyUI is a daily newsletter when designers are challenged to design specifif UI elements (eg. Sign Up form, Credit Card Checkout, etc.) and share them on Dribble.
Paper and pencil
Everithing starts with sketch, aka paper and pencil. I particular I use Rocketbook, a reusable notebook for paper saving (no referral link, jost love for the planet 🌏)
I tried many UI design tools (Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Invision Studio) and my favourite one is Figma. I particularly like the possibility to work simultaneusly on different devices, with automatic online sync, so I am using maily Figma right now.
Sometimes I need to work deeper on a vector graphic or make little photo editing, so I also use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. If the challenge will require animations, I will use Principle.
I planned to dedicate 1 hour a day for this challenge. In this hour, I work in this way:
- 10 minutes looking for inspiration and standard on Dribble, Pinterest and mobbin.design
- 10 minutes for sketches/wireframing
- 30 minutes for high quality design
- 5 minutes for deliverable file
- 5 minutes to publish the shot
My goal, using this working method, is to improve my ability to take rapid decisions along with my design skills.
